SEA ISLE CITY - February 15, 2009 (WPVI) -- Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L Taylor and Sea Isle Police Chief Thomas Dinitino announce the ongoing investigation of the discovery of a body Sunday morning in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.
At approximately 7:50 a.m., the Sea Isle Police Department received a report of the discovery of deceased person. The body was located at the Sea Isle City Marina on 42nd Place near the bay.
The investigation revealed the identity of the body as 35-year-old Tracy Hottenstein of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
Hottenstein's body will be examined later today at Southern Regional ME's office. The continuing investigation into Hottenstein's death is being conducted by Cape May County's Prosecutor's Officer and Sea Isle City PD.The circumstances surrounding the cause of death are under investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor's office and the Sea Isle Police.
Police have said Hottenstein was in town to watch friends participate in the Annual Polar Bear Plunge, but was not a participant herself.
Authorities plan to issue more information after the autopsy is conducted.
