Pedestrian struck, killed in Marlton

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Burlington County, New Jersey on Monday morning.

The accident happened just after 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Elmwood Road and Carnation Drive in Marlton.

Police say Ahilefs Kalaitzi, age 62, of Evesham, was walking in the southbound shoulder of the roadway when he was struck by a motor vehicle traveling northbound driven by Anthony Schepis III , age 19, of Evesham.

Kalaitzi was taken to Virtua-Marlton where he was pronounced dead.

Schepis was transported to Virtua-Marlton where he was treated and released. Schepis was traveling alone.

The collision is being investigated by the Evesham Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
