A police officer is on the scene after a shooting at a Checkers restaurant in North Philadelphia.

A man is in critical condition after an overnight shooting at a restaurant in North Philadelphia.

It happened at the Checkers restaurant on the 1200 block of North Broad Street.

Police tell Action News that a 19-year-old man slapped a female server after he became unhappy with his order.

Her boyfriend witnessed the incident and that's when police say the boyfriend pulled a gun and shot the man.

The shooting victim is being treated at Temple Hospital for a gunshot would to the back.

The suspect was taken into custody.
