OCEAN CITY, N.J. - July 29, 2009 (WPVI) -- Authorities in Ocean City say that a 12 foot long whale washed ashore near 35th Street.
It was around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
It is thought to be a pilot whale.
First reports said that the whale was alive and that some people on the beach tried to push it back into the water, before it died.
