A jury has convicted a suburban Philadelphia woman on charges that she stole more than $78,000 from a youth soccer league.

Tuesday's verdict came after a four-day jury trial in Montgomery County Court.

Thirty-eight-year-old Maryann Grant was convicted on two felony theft counts.

Prosecutors the Red Hill woman she stole $78,030 from the Valley Soccer Club when she served as its treasurer.

Her son once played in the league.

Prosecutors argue that the crimes, which happened over a four-year span, merit jail time.

The club discovered the thefts in March 2007, when a new treasurer found discrepancies in the club's financial records.

Grant says she was reimbursing herself for expenditures she made in the club's behalf.
