Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Four people were taken to area hospitals after a hazmat incident in Montgomery County Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 7:00 at the JBS Packerland - a meat packing company in Franconia.

An ammonia leak was reported and was quickly contained. The building was evacuated as a precaution.

All four of the victims are being treated at Grand View Hospital. Authorities say the injuries sustained by the leak are considered non-life threatening.

Authorities are investigating the cause.
