Motorcyclist dead in Atlantic County

PORT REPUBLIC, N.J. - October 14, 2009 (WPVI) -- A motorcyclist is dead after a tragic accident in Atlantic County.

The deadly accident happened at around 7:30 p.m along route 9 in Port Republic, New Jersey.

Officials say a motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve and the bicycle left the roadway. The cyclist was thrown from the bike.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word on whether he was wearing a helmet.
