Officer struck by car in South Philly

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - November 2, 2009 (WPVI) -- A 4th District Philadelphia Police officer was struck and injured overnight in South Philadelphia.

The officer was hit at about 12:15 a.m. as he was crossing the street near the intersection of 7th and Mifflin Streets.

He was treated and released at the hospital for bruises to his legs.

The driver was stopped nearby by police. That person was arrested for a DUI.
