Two hurt in Del. fire truck accident

Fire truck accident in Bear, Delaware

Two people were hurt in an accident involving a fire truck in Bear, Delaware on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in the 1900 block of Route 40 shortly before 1:30 p.m.

The ladder truck from the Christiana Fire Department was responding to a fire in the Fox Run Apartments when it collided with another vehicle.

Two occupants of the other vehicle were briefly trapped. They were both taken to Christiana Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No firefighters were hurt.

All Westbound lanes of Route 40 were closed temporarily with traffic getting by on the shoulder.
