Thursday, November 05, 2009

One of seven teenagers accused in the fatal attack on a Hispanic immigrant on Long Island has pleaded guilty to gang assault and hate crime charges.

The agreement requires Nicholas Hausch to testify against the six other defendants.

He entered the plea in Suffolk County Court in Riverhead on Thursday.

The teens are accused of the Nov. 8, 2008, killing of Ecuadorean immigrant Marcelo Lucero. The 37-year-old was fatally stabbed in the chest in Patchogue.

The other teens had previously pleaded not guilty to various charges in connection to the attack.
