Octorara dismisses early after bomb threat

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Schools in the Octorara school district were dismissed early on Wednesday afternoon following a bomb threat.

All high school and middle school students were dismissed at 12:15 p.m. All elementary students were dismissed at 1:15 p.m.

The district says a threat came into the high school at around 9:45 a.m.

All buildings were put into lockdown, while high school and middle school students were evacuated to nearby elementary school buildings.

Police say nothing turned up, but school officials have decided to dismiss students early anyway.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed a handful of police vehicles on the scene.

Parents are being asked not to come on campus as the investigation continues.
