Alleged rape in college frat house

LOGAN - November 14, 2009 (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a reported rape that occurred overnight at a fraternity house near La Salle University.

According to authorities, an 18-year-old female called police to report that she was raped in a bathroom of the home which is located in the 5300 block of Chew Avenue around 2:45 a.m.

The incident took place while a party was going on in the fraternity house. The house is off-campus.

It is not known if either the victim or the suspect, or both, are La Salle Students.

The female was taken to Germantown Hospital for treatment.

Police tell Action News they are treating this case as a rape.
