Police are searching for the suspect in a domestic dispute shooting.

Authorities say 29-year-old Daemont Wheeler and a 48-year-old man are both dating women from the same family. The two are said to not like one another.

On Friday night in Rodney Village, police say the hatred came to a head during an argument in which it has been alleged Wheeler took out a handgun and shot the victim multiple times while at the John Clark Road residence. The exact nature of the argument is unknown at this time.

After the shooting, Wheeler fled the residence. The victim was transported to Kent General where his is currently in serious condition after emergency surgery.

There is no known address for Mr. Wheeler. He is homeless and has ties to the Dover and Harrington areas. Warrants are currently on file at charging him with attempted murder.

Anyone who may know of his whereabouts is strongly encouraged to call Troop 3 at 302-697- 4455 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
