An accident involving a tractor trailer caused a traffic jam on the New Jersey Turnpike on November 28, 2009.

An accident involving a tractor trailer caused a traffic jam on the New Jersey Turnpike.

The accident occurred at around 1:00 p.m. in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, just below exit 5 in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike, and kept the highway closed until shortly after 9 p.m.

Reports indicate a tractor trailer carrying paper products struck the Creek Road overpass and became completely engulfed in flames.

According to officials, southbound traffic had to veer off turnpike at exit 7.

The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
