Trump casinos lay off 50 managers; more could come

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - November 10, 2010 -- Trump Entertainment Resorts has laid off 50 managers at its three Atlantic City casinos and says more job cuts could be on the way.

New CEO Robert Griffin said Wednesday the company is cutting its management as part of a restructuring plan following its third go-round in bankruptcy court.

Griffin tells The Press of Atlantic City the company could have to eliminate even more jobs due to the struggles Atlantic City is facing from the economy and competition from casinos in neighboring states.

The layoffs affected the marketing departments at all three properties, although most of the cuts were made at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.

In addition to the Taj Mahal, the company owns Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and Trump Marina Hotel Casino.
