Friend of 'The Situation' arrested

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. - July 29, 2011 (WPVI) -- Authorities arrested a childhood friend of Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino outside MTV's "Jersey Shore" house.

Police charged 32-year-old Jonathan Manfre with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The Jackson resident is free after posting $1,500 bail.

Seaside Heights Detective Steve Korman told the Asbury Park Press Manfre was stopped by off-duty police officers and security working at the house featured in the reality series at 3:16 a.m. Sunday. Police say they found Manfre in possession of a "white powdery substance."

It's not known whether Manfre has hired a lawyer.
