Overturned TT closes Rt. 49 in Pennsville

An overturned tractor-trailer has closed a stretch of Route 49 in Salem County, New Jersey.

The truck, which was hauling glass, overturned around 4:30 a.m. Monday along eastbound Route 49 in Pennsville.

According to police, the driver lost control at Ferry Road, causing the tractor-trailer to tip onto its side, taking down utility poles and just missing a commercial building.

The driver was able to extricate himself from the cab and was not seriously injured.

Route 49 is closed in both directions at this hour.
