Pedestrian struck by SEPTA trolley in Upper Darby

SEPTA officials and Upper Darby police are investigating an accident involving a trolley and pedestrian.

It happened on Garrett and Congress roads just before 5:00 p.m.

Officials say the 40-year-old man was hit by a trolley heading towards the 69th Street Terminal.

The man is being treated for head and chest injuries at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Trolley service was restored about an hour after the accident.
