Camden Diocese to close 3 schools

Saturday, January 21, 2012

The Diocese of Camden announced it will close three South Jersey schools at the end of this school year.

Outside Saint Mary Magdalene Elementary School in Millville Friday night, students and parents rallied and chanted save our school.

The Parents found out Friday after Bishop Joseph Galante released a letter saying the decision stems from enrollment and finance problems.

And families gathered at Sacred Heart High School in Vineland Friday night; another one of the schools slated to close.

The Diocese of Camden says students at Sacred Heart will receive $1,500 tuition discounts to attend other diocesan high schools.

And Administrators at Notre Dame in Landisville met with parents to discuss their school's closing.

Students at the elementary schools will receive one-thousand dollar tuition discounts at other diocesan schools.
