Saturday, February 25, 2012

Two Montgomery County homes are damaged after high winds knocked a tree branch onto them.

It happened in Abington Saturday afternoon on the 1900 block of Adams Avenue.

The fallen branch damaged the roof and the shutters of the two homes.

Officials say no one was hurt.

Those gusts were strong enough to do some damage across the area Saturday.

Several utility poles came crashing down in Telford, Montgomery County Saturday afternoon near the 800 block of Kellers Creamery Road.

About 150 people lost power as a result.

And in Claymont, Delaware the high winds forced state police to close a portion of Northbound 1-95 after construction debris from a bridge repair project blew onto the interstate just after 1:30pm.

Traffic, between Harvey and Naamans Road was rerouted for about four hours while crews cleaned up the mess.
