Woman's body found in river near Penn's Landing

PENN'S LANDING - July 5, 2012 (WPVI) -- Officials recovered a body found floating in the Delaware River just off Penn's Landing late Thursday morning.

The discovery was made around 11:50 a.m. on the 200 block of South Delaware Avenue, near the USS Olympia.

The Philadelphia Fire Department and marine units were called out to the scene to retrieve the body.

Action News has beent old that the body is that of an asian woman believed to be in her 20s. There is no word on her identity at this time.

Police are continuing to investigate.
