SOUTHWEST PHILADEPHIA - July 15, 2012 (WPVI) -- A man was taken to the hospital for serious injuries after the vehicle he was riding in slammed into a parked truck.
It happened around 4:30 Sunday afternoon on Enterprise Avenue near Fort Mifflin Road in Southwest Philadelphia.
Authorities say for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered to the right of the road and struck the truck.
The passenger - described as a 21-year-old male - had to be extricated from the car. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
The driver of the vehicle is expected to be fine.
There was as occupant inside the truck but initial reports indicate that person was not injured.
