MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. (AP) - August 13, 2012 (WPVI) -- A central Pennsylvania woman is facing charges after authorities say she admitted to repeatedly poisoning a man with eye drops for more than three years.
State police say Vickie Jo Mills of McConnellsburg told investigators that she placed Visine eye drops into Thurman Nesbitt's drinking water 10 to 12 times since June 2009.
Police say Nesbitt's doctor treated for years for symptoms including nausea, vomiting, blood pressure problems and breathing trouble. The doctor contacted authorities June 17 after tetrahydrozoline, a chemical found in eye drops, turned up in blood tests.
Mills told police she did it so he would pay more attention to her. She faces charges including assault and reckless endangerment.
A preliminary hearing for Mills is scheduled for Monday in Fulton County Court.
