It's back to school for Philadelphia students

PHILADELPHIA - September 7, 2012 (WPVI) -- Today is the first day of classes for students in the largest school district in our area, and Action News reporter Katherine Scott was there with a local family as they prepared for the day.

The Frazier family of Mount Airy invited our cameras into their home as they got ready for the first day of school.

Also today, incoming Superintendent of the Philadelphia School District William R. Hite Jr. will celebrate the start of the new year.

Hite will attend the annual bell-ringing ceremony at a school in Roxborough.
