Fatal crash on Route 1 SB in Smyrna, Del.

SMYRNA, Del. - October 8, 2012 (WPVI) -- One person is dead and another remains in serious condition following a crash on Route 1 in Smyrna, Delaware.

The fatal accident happened around noon at Exit 119 north of the Kent County line.

Police say a box truck struck a pickup truck pulling a camper. The pickup truck was parked on the shoulder of the road at the time of the crash.

One occupant of the box truck died at the scene. Another was transported to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries

Traffic was detoured off of southbound Route 1 due to the crash.
