Phila. officer arrested for altercation with wife

PHILADELPHIA - October 19, 2012 (WPVI) -- A 16th district Philadelphia officer was arrested for a physical altercation he had with his wife.

41-year-old Officer John Hargraves III was under investigation for the incident that happened back in April.

Police say Hargraves was off duty at the time of the altercation.

After months of investigation, the 17-year police department veteran has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Endangering another person, among other offenses.

Commissioner Charles Ramsey says Officer Hargraves has been suspended for 30 days with intent to dismiss.

No further information has been released.
