PHILADELPHIA - December 12, 2012 (WPVI) -- Three dogs were rescued from a suspected fighting operation in West Philadelphia Wednesday night.
SPCA officers carried out dog fighting equipment from the home on the 6000 block of Allman Street.
One person has been arrested in the case, and police are looking for two other suspects.
The dogs are being examined by a veterinarian.
"Dog fighting is a horrendous form of animal cruelty," said George Bengal, director of Humane Law Enforcement for the Pennsylvania SPCA. "Our officers have been working diligently to investigate this newest case and bring the individual responsible to justice."
Animal fighting is a third degree felony in Pennsylvania.
