17 arrested, dozens sought, in Bensalem sweep (PHOTOS)

Bensalem warrant sweep

Action News was there as 11 people were brought to the Bensalem Police Department on Friday morning following a warrant sweep. Sgt. Andrew Aninsman said those arrested were wanted for crimes including burglary, assault, drug offenses, drunk driving and theft. The suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Bensalem police arrested more than a dozen people sought on active warrants, but say dozens more remain at large.

In all, 17 people were arrested in a warrant sweep on Friday morning in the Bucks County town.

A total of 44 people were targeted for crimes including burglary, aggravated assault, distributing narcotics, forgery, thefts and DUI.

Of those arrested police say 15 were sent to Bucks County prison, one was released with unsecured bail and one posted the 10% cash bail.

Police say even though 44 people were targeted in this sweep, they have 82 active warrants in Bensalem.
