Man arrested for sexual assault in Germantown

Police have arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault in the Germantown section of Philadelphia early Monday morning.

Police received a 911 call from residents around 12:30 a.m. reporting they heard a female screaming for help.

Police responded to the 5200 block of Rufe Street near East Queen Lane, adjacent to some SEPTA railroad tracks.

They found a parked van and heard a woman's screams coming from some weeds down by the tracks.

Officers immediately took the suspect into custody.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Episcopal Hospital for examination.
