Toll collector hit by car on New Jersey Turnpike identified

A toll collector was seriously injured after she was hit by a car on Thursday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike.

The accident happened around 11:00 a.m. near Exit 7a in Robbinsville.

The worker, identified as 49-year-old Suzanne Dos-Santos of Jackson, was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

She remains in serious condition.

The vehicle that hit her has been described as a heavy-duty pickup truck.

New Jersey State Police are investigating the incident.
