Man wanted for exposing himself in Lower and Upper Providence

Friday, May 17, 2013

Police in Lower Providence and Upper Providence have released a sketch of the man wanted in connection with five incidents of indecent exposure in Montgomery County dating back to early April.

In each case, the man stood outside his car and committed a lewd act in front of his victims. The incidents are becoming more frequent and that has police concerned.

"I think this is a person who needs to be addressed by the criminal justice system as quickly as possible," said Lower Providence Township Police Chief Francis Carroll.

  • On Saturday, April 6th at 2:50 pm, the suspect exposed himself to a 54-year-old woman behind a vacant supermarket in the Eagleville Plaza Shopping Center in the 3200 block of Ridge Pike.

  • On Sunday, April 21st at 4:30 p.m., he was standing outside his car in a parking lot accessing a nearby jogging trail on Upper Indian Head Road and exposed himself to a 26-year-old woman.

  • On Tuesday, May 7th at 6:50 p.m., he again exposed himself in the parking lot of a trail access. This time, the victim was a 29-year-old woman.

  • Then this past Sunday, he struck twice. The first time, again behind the shopping plaza on Ridge Pike, at 3:20 pm, he exposed himself to a 40-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl walking together.

  • Then around 5:00 p.m. at Red Tail Road and Osprey Drive, he exposed himself to a 38-year-old woman walking her infant daughter in a stroller.

"This is the only instance where we have any type of verbal communication between the victims and the suspect," said Carroll. "The suspect yelled profanities at the victim."

Investigators said the suspect spoke with a Middle Eastern or Indian accent.

The suspect is described as 25 to 40 years old, 5'5" to 5'10" tall, slender to medium build, short black hair, and clean shaven.

Women who spoke to Action News Friday said they will follow the advice of police to stay aware of their surroundings, with hopes the suspect is caught soon.

"Just more watchful, really, more watchful," said Patty Micolucci of Villanova, Pa. "I'll still be going because this is a nice place."

"He needs help desperately," said Pat Stibinski of Collegeville, Pa.

The suspect has not made any physical contact with the victims. Police say he may be driving a silver or gray sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to contact either Lower Providence Police at 610-539-5900 or Upper Providence Police at 610-933-7899 ext.146.
