Funeral held for mother, 3 sons killed in Roosevelt Boulevard crash

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - July 27, 2013 (WPVI) -- A mother and her three children, who were struck and killed on Roosevelt Boulevard earlier this month, were laid to rest Saturday.

Friends and family gathered at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in North Philadelphia to honor the memories of Samara Banks and her three sons.

Back on July 16th, police say a man who was street racing lost control of his vehicle and struck the family as they tried to cross the street.

Banks and three of her children - 9-month-old Saa-mir Williams, 1½-year-old son Saa-sean Williams and 4-year-old son Saa-deem Griffin all died.

A fourth child 5-year-old Saa-yon Griffin survived.

Two men, 22-year-old Khusen Akhmedov and 31-year-old Ahem Holloman, have since been arrested and are facing criminal charges.
