Car lands in North Philadelphia sinkhole, 2 injured

Two men were injured when the car they were in landed in a sinkhole in North Philadelphia.

The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 16th Street near Oakdale.

Medics responded and transported a 26-year-old man and a 23-year-old man to Temple University Hospital for treatment.

This accident comes two days after a sinkhole swallowed up the front end of a car on a street in Hunting Park.

According to the Philadelphia Water Department, a water main break caused the Hunting Park sinkhole.

Officials have not released a cause for tonight's sinkhole.
