WILMINGTON, Del. - August 2, 2013 (WPVI) -- A 90-year-old man was struck by a car while trying to cross the street near a Wilmington intersection.
It happened around 1:30 Friday afternoon near Van Buren Street and Delaware Avenue.
Authorities say the driver was backing up to make a turn into a nearby gas station when her vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The victim was knocked to the ground and suffered a laceration to the head. He was taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
Police say the driver of the SUV did stop at the scene.
