TRENTON, N.J. - August 4, 2013 (WPVI) -- Trenton Mayor Tony Mack says he wants to hire 75 new police officers.
In a letter written to Governor Chris Christie, Mayor Mack presents a crime reduction plan that involves rehiring officers with the financial support of the state.
Last September over 100 officers were laid off due to budget constraints.
A $3 million federal grant gave the city the resources needed to rehire 30 of those officers.
