2 injured in crash on Schuylkill Expressway

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - August 5, 2013 (WPVI) -- Two people were injured when two vehicles collided at the South Street entrance to the Schuylkill Expressway in South Philadelphia overnight.

The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes of the Expressway at the South Street entrance.

Witnesses say one of the vehicles was traveling at a high rate of speed when it came in contact with the second vehicle - the impact causing one of the cars to overturn.

A 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. Both are in stable condition.

There is no word on charges at this time as police continue to investigate.
