LANCASTER, Pa. - August 8, 2013 (WPVI) -- A teenager who helped locate a missing 5-year-old girl in Lancaster County now has the ceremonial first pitch of a Major League Baseball game to add to his resume.
The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports 13-year-old Chris Garcia got the ball over the plate before the Washington Nationals hosted the Atlanta Braves in Washington on Tuesday.
He celebrated with a little dance and a smile.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children invited Garcia and fellow hero, 15-year-old Temar Boggs, to throw out the first pitch; Boggs wasn't able to attend.
Last month, police say the teens were on their bikes when they spotted the girl inside a car amid a massive search, and the suspect let her go. Police say the suspect has been arrested and faces charges of kidnapping, sexual assault and other counts.
