'Suspicious' package sent to Northeast Philadelphia correctional facility

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - August 8, 2013 (WPVI) -- For the second time this week, officials are investigating a suspicious package that was sent to the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center in Northeast Philadelphia.

Crews were called to the building at 8301 State Road around 9:00 Thursday morning.

Authorities say a brown substance was found inside a package in the mailroom.

No one was injured.

The incident was cleared shortly after 10:00 a.m. and officials determined the substance to be non-hazardous.

Investigators say a similar incident happened at the same building on Monday.
