Bicyclist arrested after striking pedestrian in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - August 9, 2013 (WPVI) -- A bicyclist has been arrested after hitting a pedestrian along South Broad Street in South Philadelphia, police say.
The incident happened just after 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Broad and Ellsworth Streets.
Police say the cyclist was believed to be drunk when he struck the woman.
Both the cyclist and the pedestrian were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for treatment and are expected be okay.
There is no word on the nature of the charges the biker will face.
