PHILADELPHIA - August 9, 2013 (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia elementary school took a direct hit from a bolt of lightning Friday afternoon.
The strike carved a block of stone off the roof of the McDaniel School and ignited a small fire.
Firefighters responded to the building at 23rd and Mifflin in Point Breeze around 3:30 p.m.
They had the fire under control within 10 minutes.
No one was hurt.
