HAMILTON TWP., N.J. - August 11, 2013 (WPVI) -- Firefighters in Atlantic County were called to battle a fire at a two-story home in Hamilton Township.
Crews were called out to the unit block of Chancellor Park Drive just before 5:00 a.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival heavy fire and smoke was seen through the roof of the residence.
Fire officials say a preliminary investigation revealed the fire started by an outside grill.
The homeowner, Jeffery Perkin, his wife, and four children had already evacuated the house.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes.
Two people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The home sustained heavy fire and water damage.
The exact cause remains under investigation.
