$10,000 reward offered in ATM fires, burglaries

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Wells Fargo Bank is offering a $10,000 reward as the search continues for a suspect in a number of ATM fires and burglaries in Philadelphia.

Police believe Dennis Woods, a.k.a. Dennis Boyce, of South Philadelphia, and several accomplices are responsible for a rash of burglaries since early May.

The reward was offered following the burglary of Wells Fargo ATM at the Eastwick Avenue location.

Still photographs from a Wells Fargo Bank branch on Rising Sun Avenue show the thieves using a torch on the ATM.

Police say Woods and as many as 5 accomplices are responsible for at least 10 burglaries or ATM break-ins.

The crew has successfully broken into only two of the ATMs, but allegedly got away with tens of thousands of dollars.

A task force has been created to take down the criminal ring.
