Dump-truck spills sludge on Garden State Parkway

A dump-truck carrying sludge from Hurricane Sandy spilled onto the Garden State Parkway in Egg Harbor Township.

It happened around 12 noon Friday in the southbound lanes of the highway near mile marker 39.

The back of the dump truck unlatched and sludge was spilled for about 500 yards.

Authorities say the material was not hazardous.

One lane was getting by while cleanup took place.
