Easton teacher charged with stealing $300K

Thursday, January 30, 2014

A special education teacher in the Lehigh Valley is facing serious theft charges Thursday night.

Police say Ann Marie Ballentine embezzled $300,000 from the First Presbyterian Church of Easton.

Ballentine served as the church treasurer for nearly 10 years.

The new treasurer confronted Ballentine about the missing money.

Ballentine reportedly has said she would like to make up for the crime, but her attorneys have not commented on that.
