The U.S. military said Friday that all four crew members safely evacuated from a B-1 bomber that caught fire.
WASHINGTON (AP) - April 3, 2008 -- The U.S. military said Friday that all four crew members safely evacuated from a B-1 bomber that caught fire after landing at an Air Force Base in the Middle East.
The Air Force said the bomber was taxiing after landing at al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar and "was involved in a ground incident" and caught fire. The fire was contained, but no other details were available. The incident was under investigation.
There are four crew members on the B-1 bombers. Al-Udeid is the headquarters of all U.S. air operations in the Middle East.national/world
