Woman impaled by tree branch

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

A drive through the Montana wilderness earlier this month turned into a nightmare for a North Idaho woman.

Michelle Childrers and her newlywed husband were driving along when suddenly out of nowhere a huge tree branch, a blue spruce, crashed right through her passenger side.

She was impaled through her neck.

She and her husband did not think she would survive and began saying goodbye to each other.

Amazingly, she made it to the hospital and surgeons were able to safely remove the branch from her throat.

She is making a complete recovery.
