November 10, 2011 (WPVI) -- Barely ten days after Halloween, the holiday shopping season is off and running.
Stores have started announcing their Black Friday plans.
While most of the big stores are having a big midnight opening like Target, Macy's and Best Buy Walmart is starting things even earlier this year. The retail giant is going to actually roll out some of its doorbuster specials at 10:00pm Thanksgiving night.
The company says the early discounts will be available on toys, home items and clothing. Electronics deals will start at midnight, including over $100 off an Xbox360 game console. Other deals will begin at 8 a.m. on Black Friday.
At Walmart.com, customers can sign up to receive an early preview of Black Friday deals by entering their email address to sign up. The store is also allowing shoppers to sign up through the company's Facebook page.
But many of the deals for Walmart and other stores have already been leaked, and you can see them here, at www.bfads.net.
Competition in the retail sector heats up every holiday season. Holiday business provides about 20 percent of retailers' annual sales every year.
