HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - June 13, 2007 -- In Pennsylvania, it's perfectly legal to fire a worker simply because that person is gay.
A bill that would outlaw that sort of discrimination is to be introduced today in the state Legislature. The bill would also make it illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation for housing and credit.
There's no federal law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, but a number of other states have such laws on the books.
