PHILADELPHIA (AP) - December 11, 2007 (WPVI) -- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton already has the endorsement of Philadelphia Mayor John Street. Now she has the backing of his successor.
Mayor-elect Michael Nutter announced his endorsement of the New York senator during a fundraiser in the heavily Democratic city.
He says that Clinton's priorities "are the right priorities for Philadelphia."
Nutter also introduced the main speaker at the event -- former President Bill Clinton, who spent about 40 minutes making the case that his wife has been an effective agent of change.
Senator Clinton did not attend the fundraiser, which took place Tuesday night at the Electric Factory, a concert venue.Current Mayor John Street announced his support for Senator Clinton in July.
