The smile on Katherine Scott's face should say it all. She is a very proud new mommy!
"You don't realize how attached you're going to be," Katherine said.
Anne Beatrice came into this world on Katherine's birthday, February 5th.
"9 pounds, 2 ounces, not a little girl," Katherine said.
Both Katherine and her husband Andy say it's amazing how life turns upside down, including down to the simplest conversations.
"The first week all we talked about was how she was the best baby ever to be born anywhere in the history of the world - that was 90-percent of the conversation. The other 10-percent was what was in her diaper," Katherine said.
And Andy's new role?
"Just trying to run around making sure that my two girls are happy," Andy said.
If she needs to, Katherine can turn to Erin O'Hearn for advice. Her family has recently expanded to five!
"We went from man on man to zone defense," Erin said.
6-week-old Alexander Shane joins siblings Sienna, 3, and Sebastian who is about to turn 2.
Despite their young ages, Erin and her husband Sal say introducing Alexander to the mix has been relatively smooth.
"It was nerve wracking and wonderful at the same time," Erin said.
"It's had its challenges; it's a lot about the coordination and the time," Sal said.
Despite the sleep deprivation and regular newborn fussiness, Erin and Sal say they're taking it all in stride.
"You know it's temporary, we've done this twice before so you can kind of see the light at the end of the tunnel," Erin said.
Past the newborn stage, sports anchor Ducis Rodgers and his wife Diana, who you may have seen on the morning show ABC News World Now, are thrilled to see their son bloom into his personality.
"When he's sweet, he's me," Ducis said.
Devin Beau joined the Action News family on September 24th. Soon after, Ducis admits he took a little ribbing from his co-anchors.
"Jim asked me, 'You changing diapers?' I said, 'I assisted once or twice.' He goes, 'What do you mean you assisted?' and I'm like, 'Well, I kind of helped out.' and he's like, 'What do you mean?' And he yelled something across the studio to Cecily and Cecily made fun of me," Ducis said.
Now a self-proclaimed diaper changing expert, Ducis says he can't believe how fast the months have gone.
We all saw Ducis reporting from Phillies Spring Training in Clearwater, Florida. Even though he was only gone 9 days, Ducis says he couldn't believe how much Devin had changed.
"He's getting longer, his hands are getting bigger, and his hair is growing like a weed," Ducis said.
As a new dad Ducis sums it up pretty clearly.
"It's the coolest thing in the world," Ducis said.
We want to congratulate all of our Action News new moms and dads!
